Craig Prothro
Shreve Land Construction, a division of Brice Building Co.
Inc., recently announced the appointment of Craig Prothro
as controller.
Prothro has 19 years experience in handling the financial,
strategic planning, profit and loss, human resources, IT and
overall administration of a business organization.
He received a bachelor's degree in construction from Northeast
Louisiana University in Monroe. Prior to joining Shreve Land
Construction, Prothro served as the branch manager and controller
for Airgas Inc. for eight years.
Shreve Land Construction, a division of Brice Building Company,
is a commercial general contractor based in Shreveport since
1967 with an office in Dallas since 1998. The company has
experience in the new construction and renovation of commercial
buildings to include educational, retail, office, industrial,
medical, distribution, multifamily, student housing, retirement
communities and manufacturing.
Glen J. Gulino, Donald A. David
Industrial Specialty Contractors LLC of Baton Rouge is expanding
with a new office in Beaumont, Texas. The office will service
the "Golden Triangle" area and Lake Charles.
ISC has appointed Glen J. Gulino as the regional manager
for the Beaumont and Lake Charles areas. Gulino will oversee
the operations in the new Beaumont office. He is a 1986 graduate
of LSU in Construction Management.
He has been an associate of ISC since 1989 and served as
a project coordinator, construction coordinator and more recently
as estimating/business development manager at the ISC corporate
office in Baton Rouge. Currently, he is active in Associated
Builders and Contractors in the Southeast Texas and Lake Charles
regions.
ISC also named Donald A. David P.E. as engineering/estimating
manager.
David will manage these departments at the ISC corporate
office. He has been an associate of ISC since 1990.
Previously the engineering manager, he holds a bachelor's
degree in electrical engineering from LSU. He also holds a
Louisiana and Texas Professional Engineering license. Other
licenses include a Master Electrician license for the states
of Alabama, Tennessee, Mississippi and California.
"Both Glen and Donnie are very talented and motivated
individuals," said Jerry Rispone, ISC President. "They
have contributed greatly to the success of ISC and we are
confident they will bring even greater success to ISC in the
future."
ISC, with offices in Baton Rouge, Houston and Beaumont specializes
in industrial instrumentation and electrical work for the
chemical processing, petrochemical, communications, power,
pulp & paper and refining industries.
Fares Y. Abdo
Portland Cement Association recently named Fares Y. Abdo
as program manager of water resources within the association's
public works department.
Abdo is responsible for the promotion of cement-based solutions
for water resources applications such as water conveyance,
water and wastewater treatment facilities, dams, spillways,
canals, bank protection and reservoir liners.
He is a member of the American Concrete Institute and has
extensive industry experience, including work in the fields
of concrete consultation, structural and construction materials
investigation, nondestructive testing of concrete and pavement
construction. Abdo is also a registered professional engineer
in Alabama.
Abdo holds a master's degree in civil engineering, structures
and construction materials from the University of Alabama
at Birmingham. He also has a bachelor's degree in civil engineering,
structures, from the same university.
Prior to joining PCA, Abdo has worked for Vulcan Materials
Company as manager/research engineer at Vulcan's Technical
Services Center and has held various positions with MACTEC
Engineering and Consulting Inc.
Lee Buddrus
Lee Buddrus was recently elected president of the Air Movement
and Control Association International Inc. Buddrus is currently
president of Acme Engineering.
Throughout his career, Buddrus has been a strong supporter
of AMCA International. He has served as chairman of the Air
Movement Division and has served on the 410 Committee and
the Facility Expansion Task Force. He is currently serving
as the chairman of the Air Movement Code Action Review Committee
and was elected to AMCA International's Board of Directors
in October 2001.
He also had an earlier stint on the AMCA International Board
of Directors from 1993 to 1999. Until today, Buddrus served
as vice president on the Executive Committee.
The AMCA is a not-for-profit international association of
related air system equipment - primarily but not limited to
fans, louvers, dampers, air curtains, airflow measurement
stations, acoustic attenuators and other air system components
for the industrial, commercial and residential markets throughout
the world.
