Tim Pitre

Hughes Supply Inc., headquartered in Orlando, Fla., recently announced that Tim Pitre is now the branch manager at the New Orleans MRO branch. The company was formerly Chad Supply.

Pitre is new to Hughes Supply. Most recently he was a receiving and warehouse manager for a New Orleans wine distributor Martin Wine Cellar.

While he is new to the MRO industry, he brings a unique understanding of purchasing and delivery systems to Hughes. A New Orleans resident his entire life, Pitre currently lives in the suburb of Metairie.

"I am most excited about the tremendous opportunity to grow our business in the out lying areas of Louisiana, as well as in Baton Rouge and the Gulf Coast to Pensacola," Pitre said.

Hughes Supply, founded in 1928, is one of the nation's largest diversified wholesale distributors.

Bert Turner

In October at a ceremony held at the Lod Cook Alumni Center, Bert Turner, chairman emeritus of the board of Turner Industries, was inducted into LSU's Hall of Distinction and named LSU's Alumnus of the Year.

The Hall of Distinction, which includes individuals such as Pat Taylor, Mike Foster, Tommy Cassanova, Charles Manship and James Carville, honors outstanding individuals who have made significant contributions to society and whose achievements have brought credit and distinction to Louisiana State University.

Turner received the prestigious Alumnus of the Year recognition among an impressive group of inductees including Jimmy Field, Rudy Macklin, Justice Kitty Kimball, Victor Bussie, Major General William Bowden, Virginia Shehee and Charles Preston Siess Jr.

Turner Industries is the largest privately owned industrial construction and maintenance organization in Louisiana.

C. David Dumas

C. David Dumas was recently named vice president of construction operations for Brown Builders of Bossier City.

Dumas has many years of experience in the field of construction, serving in all capacities from president of a major construction firm to project management early in his career.

He has served as past president of the Northwest Association General Contractors and is a member of the Louisiana Associated General Contractors.

David R. Hendrix

Shreve Land Construction of Shreveport recently announced the appointment of David R. Hendrix as controller.

Hendrix has 20 years of experience in handling the financial, strategic planning, profit and loss, human resources, safety and overall administration of a business organization.

He received a master's degree in business administration from Louisiana State University in Shreveport and a bachelor's degree in math and civil engineering from the University of Texas in Arlington.

Hendrix previously served as revenue cycles manager of Louisiana State University Health Science Center, Department of Family Medicine; controller and business manager of AE Design Group; and Controller of Aillet, Fenner, Jolly & McClelland Inc.

He also served as staff professor at Louisiana State University in Shreveport in the Department of Management/Marketing.

Larry Mathis

Hutchison Supply Co. of San Antonio, Texas, recently announced the appointment of Larry Mathis as general manager.

Larry Kirby, president, said, "This transition is part of a plan that began several years in anticipation of Mike Hutchison's full retirement. We are very pleased to announce that Larry is stepping up from senior estimator to general manager."

Larry Mathis, a native of San Antonio, has been with the company since 1995.

Mike Hutchinson formally retired in September. Kerry Kirby, who had been the general manager, has served as company president since 1998.

Founded in 1990, Hutchison Supply Co. is a local, award-winning company that supplies doors, glass and hardware to builders.
